5 Steps to the Perfect Wedding Theme – Princess, James Bond or all in White?
You’re newly engaged and in the midst of wedding planning. Of course, there are thousands of questions to clarify. A particularly important one is whether you want to have a theme for your wedding or not. If yes, which one? The selection is limitless, but how do you find the perfect theme? In 5 steps you’ll find the right theme. Here’s how.
1. Wedding Theme: Yes or No?
Not every wedding needs a theme or motto. However, a wedding theme has one big advantage: It gives the wedding planning a better structure right from the start.
Because depending on the wedding theme, the colors are already given (wedding in pink), the location selection becomes easier, e.g., for a mountain wedding. The dress selection also becomes much easier. The theme helps with detailed decisions, which saves time and nerves.
2. What Kind of Themes are there?
The wedding theme can be based on various things. The location is such an anchor, for example: mountain wedding, beach wedding, wedding on the water, wedding in Italy, country or city wedding. Different (clothing) styles can also determine the theme: princess wedding, boho wedding, traditional costume wedding.
3. What might We like?
If you’d like to put your wedding under a theme, it’s important that it also fits the environment where you’d like to get married. You really have to consider this when choosing a theme. Ask yourselves what could suit you.
Perhaps a place you love, a music genre you both appreciate. The location of your wedding can also become the theme. If you’re getting married in the mountains, it could be a traditional costume wedding. The important thing is that you both like it.
4. Does the Wedding Theme Fit the Location and your Guests?
The theme should also fit where you’re getting married. A princess wedding belongs in a beautiful castle and not in the local village inn.
You should think about whether your guests can go along with the theme: If there are many children involved, a wedding on a ship might not be the safest option. Important: Consider the guests as well.
5. Does the Perfect Wedding Theme Fit the Budget?
Under the slogan “Money is no object”, I’ve already planned several weddings, one of which was a James Bond wedding: The guests were ‘kidnapped’ from the airport in a stretch limousine and the bride wore different dresses that would have taken Pierce Brosnan’s breath away. That’s why you should definitely think about whether your theme can be realized within the budget. Exclusive locations like castles, for example, are costly.
But my most important tip comes at the end. And that is: all or nothing. A wedding in pink isn’t one if only the invitations and flowers are pink.
You have even more questions than before? That’s completely normal: How you can perfectly implement your theme, stay within budget, and what else there is to consider in perfect wedding planning besides the wedding theme, you’ll learn in my Wedding Workshop.
