Oh My God, I’m Getting Married

My 5-step guide shows you how to achieve perfect wedding planning. This way, you can look forward to the big day with ease.

Oh My God, I’m Getting Married! But how Do I Plan My Wedding? My 5-Step Guide Shows You Step by Step how to Achieve Perfect Wedding Planning from the Start.

You got engaged? Congratulations. And now everything is spinning? You don’t know where to start with the planning? Completely normal. Because for a wedding, there are literally 1,000 things to consider. It’s not only important to think of everything, but also to do it in the right order.

I know, dear brides, you’d love to run out right away, buy your DREAM DRESS and book the venue. Unfortunately, these are exactly the most common mistakes made in planning. The dress comes later, even much later. So, one thing at a time:

1. The Budget

The very first consideration should be what budget you have available. You can create a magical wedding with any budget, it’s important to always keep in mind how much the individual items (food, drinks, music, dress, etc.) should cost so that nothing gets out of hand.

So if, for example, I have € 15,000 available, then the dress should not cost € 5,000. If I want to celebrate with 120 guests, I need to be clear that I must calculate at least about € 50 per person for the food.

2. the Guests

Who do you want to invite, who are your guests anyway? Write a list of all desired guests. This list determines the size of your wedding and thus also provides a selection criterion for the venue. You want to invite 100 guests and at the same time get married in the Caribbean, is that even feasible?

3. Date

My tip here is not to fixate on one specific date at all costs. Most brides absolutely want a summer wedding. Few think about the difficulties, dangers, and complications. For example, vacation time, heat, multiple weddings on the same day, or that the desired service providers are often booked.

4. The Venue

Where should the celebration take place? Yes, this is a particularly important step that you need to make before you can dive into detailed planning. Budget, theme, and guests already dictate a lot here. With these details (e.g., € 15,000, traditional costume wedding, 100 guests), you start searching for the suitable event venues.

5. Registry Office, Church, Free Ceremony

Now you consider how you want to get married: Church or just civil ceremony or both, or is a free ceremony an option?

Here are some experiences: If you want to have a civil and church wedding, it’s more stressful for you, but it’s also more cost-effective to do everything on the same day. If you get married on two days, it’s more comfortable for the guests. On the big day, you can use the gained time more for celebrating.

Of Course, I’ve Only Mentioned the most Important Points Now, but there are 1,000 more Details to Clarify.

Yes, we’re getting closer to the dress. ☺ Next up are the save-the-date cards. What they are and why you should absolutely send them out, I’ll reveal in my next blog. And if you want to know more details, like how to create a proper wedding budget plan, or why the color of the suit plays an important role, you’ll learn in a Wedding Workshop.
