For me as a wedding planner, an autumn wedding is the most beautiful time to get married.
In spring it starts to blossom, in summer the weather is (usually) beautiful and in winter the snow brings a very special romance. But if you were to ask me when I would schedule a wedding, I would choose autumn.
1. your guests have time
Autumn is not a holiday season, school has started again and the weekends in autumn are not yet planned. Many people have time then and you risk fewer cancellations, so autumn is an excellent choice.
2. the temperatures are pleasant
In summer, the temperatures are often high. It gets very hot, the bride and groom and the guests sweat. Outdoors, everyone will be looking for shade and in the evening, the guests prefer to be outside where it is more pleasant than inside.
In autumn it is often warm during the day that you can be outside, and in the later afternoon/early evening you switch indoors because it starts to get cooler.
3. the service providers inside are more available
Photographers, florists, make-up artists and the like are sometimes booked up for years during the peak wedding seasons of late spring and summer. In autumn, the appointment calendars are freer again and you have a better chance of actually getting the service providers you want.
4. the variety of cuisine is unsurpassed
Habt ihr auf einer Hochzeit schon mal Rinderfilet serviert bekommen? Vermutlich ja. Wenn ihr gern etwas individueller verköstigen wollt, hat der Herbst eine unglaubliche Vielfalt zu bieten.
Autumn is also harvest time in our latitudes. The vegetables, such as pumpkin, red cabbage and potatoes, are therefore not only fresh, but also varied and regional, which has become increasingly important for many of my customers.
5 Autumn comes in bold colours
Pale pink and light green belong in spring. In autumn, you can let the colours fly: deep orange, strong red, dark green, magenta and violet create a romantic and warm ambience. And not only with the floral decorations, but also with the design of the stationery, the variety of colours allows you to design especially individually and guarantees that the invitation does not look exactly like your best friend's invitation.
6 Autumn shines in golden light
The autumn wedding also has advantages for the bridal shoot: In autumn, you don't have to wait until late afternoon for the warm, romantic light to finally arrive. On top of that, this special quality of light is supported by the colours of nature, namely brown, red and yellow, and makes everything shine golden. After wedding shoots are often deliberately scheduled for autumn.
All the best, your Katha
