Ich bin in einem kleinen bayerischen Dorf nahe dem Chiemsee aufgewachsen – umgeben von Bergen, Wiesen und der frischen Landluft. Doch meine Neugier und das Fernweh haben mich schon früh hinaus in die Welt gezogen.
In den letzten Jahren durfte ich wertvolle Erfahrungen in Irland, England, Italien, Deutschland und Frankreich sammeln – nicht nur als Hochzeitsplanerin und Eventmanagerin, sondern auch als Sommelière, Restaurantleiterin und in der gehobenen Küche. Besonders prägend war meine Zeit im legendären Ashford Castle in Irland, wo ich gemeinsam mit den Partnerhotels über 140 exklusive Hochzeiten und Events begleiten durfte – Erlebnisse, die meine Leidenschaft für außergewöhnliche Feierlichkeiten tief geprägt haben.
Nach vielen Stationen und einigen Wintersaisonen in Lech/Zürs hat mich das Leben ins wunderschöne Vorarlberg geführt. Hier habe ich 2020 Katha Wedding gegründet – mit dem Wunsch, all meine Erfahrung, meine Liebe zu stilvollen Details und meine große Begeisterung für Organisation in etwas zu verwandeln, das Herzen berührt.

One of a kind dream Wedding in the mountains
This wedding was absolutely stunning and glamorous - set high in the breathtaking Austrian Alps. It was a three-day celebration, each moment more special than the last.
One of the absolute highlights: we transported a vintage swing carousel all the way up into the mountains to give the guests a truly unforgettable experience.
They came from all over the world and soaked up the unique charm of the Alps to the fullest.

When most people think of a mountain wedding, they immediately picture a rustic celebration in a mountain hut. But when I think of mountain weddings, one of my all-time favorite celebrations from 2022 comes to mind – and it had absolutely nothing to do with a traditional mountain hut party 😁.
This couple’s story began in the mountains, so it was clear to them: they wanted to get married there. But they worried that a wedding in the mountains could never feel truly glamorous. Their wish? No rustic "hut vibes" – they wanted a high-class, elegant wedding.

Wondering which canapés you should serve at your wedding? There is no general right or wrong answer here. The most important thing is to tailor the selection to the season, your guests, and the structure of your wedding.
Especially in the height of summer, it is often the case that heavy and greasy appetizers are served on the assumption that they are more filling. This often overlooks the fact that people sweat more in high temperatures. Heavy food adds to this feeling and can quickly make your guests feel tired and sluggish instead of full of energy.
Well-thought-out catering is crucial here. Talk to your caterer, the hotel or the location in detail
about your wishes and ideas. Make sure that the food on offer matches the season and takes your guests` needs into account. Tip 1: A saxophonist, an acoustic band, or a DJ who can create a great atmosphere and mood with the sound of the wedding theme.
Tip 2: The photo booth is past its prime. If you still want to forgo funny snapshots with props, I recommend the photo mirror.
Tip 3: A magician who mingles with the guests will amaze and spark conversation – a real icebreaker, especially for mixed groups.

In rural areas, for example, it is common to invite clubs, work colleagues and neighbours to the wedding ceremony and the subsequent aperitif - but not to the wedding reception later on.
There are a few important points to bear in mind with this option. It is particularly important to provide an appealing selection of food and drinks. The supporting programme should also be carefully planned. My tip: Think of the aperitif as a separate event within your wedding day. This way, you can ensure that guests who don`t stay for the celebration afterwards will leave with a feeling of ‘Wow, that was a successful afternoon that I will remember for a long time to come’.

There are countless possibilities for where and how you can celebrate a wedding.
Here I have put together some examples for you: a mountain wedding, a wedding on a yacht, a ship or a raft, on a lake, by the sea, in a garden, high above the clouds in an aeroplane or in an aeroplane on the ground, in a quarry, in the forest or abroad.

The wedding dress is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful aspects of wedding planning.
One question that concerns many is the reason for the sometimes enormous price differences in wedding dresses. Various factors play a decisive role here: Is the dress produced in Europe? Does it come from a family business where every dress is made by hand?

Great news! I've decided to post a wedding planning tip for you every Thursday.
This week it's all about planning. One of the most important things you need to know is that it doesn't matter if you decide to have a simple, plain wedding or an extremely pompous wedding. Even if you say: "We've only invited 40 guests anyway", the organizational steps are always the same.
An example for you: In this region, you normally spend between €2,000 and around €4,500 on the entire floral decorations, depending on the wishes of the bride and groom.
In Ireland, when I was still doing weddings at Ashford Castle, the costs were sometimes as high as €250,000 because people wanted totally extravagant flowers, arrangements, guest flowers in the rooms, etc. What I'm trying to say is that it doesn't matter whether you want a big, small, pompous or simple wedding - it just depends on your budget and how much you're prepared to spend.
So always remember: the budget is the deciding factor. You have to organize and decide what you want within all budget options.
